Our Founder
When Frank DeBlasi was diagnosed with testicular cancer at age 29, he was very fortunate to have a wonderful support network, including family, friends, and co-workers. If he survived his ordeal, he promised himself he would build a foundation for young people battling cancer. Frank battled his cancer and is now cancer-free. Keeping his promise, Baller Dream Foundation is a thriving statement of his tenacity and conquer-cancer mindset. Now Frank and the BDF team are making his promise a reality.
Recognizing the critical need for emotional and daily living support, not available for many young warriors battling cancer, Frank built the groundwork for a foundation and a mission centered around children and young adults fighting all types of cancer.
What’s a Baller?
The Baller Dream Foundation is a nonprofit organization that lifts the spirits of brave young cancer warriors, ages birth-29. The young people served by BDF are not called patients, but "Ballers". Baller is a modern-day term suggesting a person is doing well, feeling well, and in control. Our Ballers are incredibly resilient, courageous, and deserving of recognition for their tenacity and conquer-cancer mindset.
What We Do
Baller Dream works closely with children's hospitals across the country and provides in-hospital, volunteer-led activities to help ease the minds of young warriors, as well as support for their families. Thanks to generous sponsors and donors, BDF also provides major life experiences for the Baller and their families. BDF has positively impacted the lives of hundreds of Ballers and their families annually while building lifelong relationships.
BDF envisions a future in which all the Ballers’ dreams come true! Please join us in contributing to the BDF cause by attending a Baller Dream Foundation event, making a tax-deductible donation, or hosting a third-party event.
Articles – Good topics for articles include anything related to your company – recent changes to operations, the latest company softball game – or the industry you’re in. General business trends (think national and even international) are great article fodder, too.
Mission statements – You can tell a lot about a company by its mission statement. Don’t have one? Now might be a good time to create one and post it here. A good mission statement tells you what drives a company to do what it does.
Company policies – Are there company policies that are particularly important to your business? Perhaps your unlimited paternity/maternity leave policy has endeared you to employees across the company. This is a good place to talk about that.
Executive profiles – A company is only as strong as its executive leadership. This is a good place to show off who’s occupying the corner offices. Write a nice bio about each executive that includes what they do, how long they’ve been at it, and what got them to where they are.

On September 29, Baller Dream will welcome two new Ballers to the “Ballherhood”!
